Andrea Lascelles

(Acupuncturist and Tui Na Practitioner) 

 

 

Andrea Lascelles BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, MAAC (1322), Dip Chinese Herbs Level 7, DCR (BSc), BWYTD Level 3; comes from a Western Medicine background, graduating as a Diagnostic Radiographer from The Royal London Hospital in 1986. Andrea trained with St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Bupa working for Forrest Breast screening as a mammographer, counsellor and breast awareness advisor. Andrea moved into private practice continuing her work in the field of mammography, and later completed the PGCert in Computerised Tomography at Bradford University in 1994.

While at the Royal London Andrea was involved in research in the field of pelvic floor health, and this interest has continued into her yoga teaching. She is a Tutor for BWY specialising in Moola Bandha (Pelvic Floor lock) and currently teaches weekly Yoga classes and workshops in the Harrogate and the surrounding areas.

Since suffering a spinal injury as a teenager Andrea found herself interested to Radiography, Yoga and Acupuncture.

 

Andrea graduated from the Northern College of Acupuncture with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture. Specialising in:

  • Women’s health

  • Oncology Support

  • Gynaecology

  • Neurodegenerative Disease

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Depression

  • Insomnia

  • Auto-immune Disorders

  • Pain relief and musculoskeletal disorders.

In 2019 Andrea graduated from Shulan College with a Diploma in Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage).

In 2020 Andrea completed the International Acupuncture for Oncology Program.

In 2021 Andrea Graduated from Phoenix Academy with a level 7 Chinese Herbs Diploma.

Andrea is a member of The Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), is a professional association formed in 2020 by a group of practising Degree Level qualified Acupuncturists. During the first covid-19 lockdown in April 2020 AAC through lobbying managed to change the status of Acupuncture Practitioners with the ONS (Office for National Statistics) from Complementary Therapists to Healthcare Practitioners. This meant that we were considered Primary healthcare workers and thus allowed to return to our clinics. We returned to work within 1 days whilst other acupuncture bodies restricted their members’ clinics.
